The inspection system is connected to a vehicle using a standardized diagnostic connector, known as the
Diagnostic Link Connector (DLC), used in all OBD II vehicles. All OBD II vehicles have this connector, and the shape of the DLC is the same in all vehicles. The DLC has sockets for a maximum of 16 terminals. The vehicle manufacturer may use some or all of the sockets in the DLC connector. |
